Agostina Pieri
Agostina Pieri is een familiebedrijf in Montalcino, bekend om zijn verfijnde en toegankelijke Brunello di Montalcino. Opgericht in de jaren ‘90 door Agostina Pieri en nu geleid door haar zoon Francesco Monaci, richt het domein zich op Sangiovese van topkwaliteit. De wijngaarden liggen in het warme zuiden van Montalcino, wat zorgt voor rijpe, volle wijnen met zachte tannines. Francesco werkt met zorg in de wijngaard en kiest in de kelder voor een balans tussen traditie en moderniteit, met rijping in zowel Sloveense eiken vaten als Franse barriques. Agostina Pieri staat bekend om wijnen met finesse, fruit en uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding.

Complexe rode wijn met gekonfijt fruit, pruimen en bessen in het aroma en een milde toets van eikenhout. De smaak zet vol, evenwichtig en krachtig in en blijft lang hangen met veel aroma en rijpe, zachte tannine.

Na de handmatige selectie in de wijngaard volgt een verdere selectie in de kelder, druif voor druif. De fermentatie en maceratie gebeuren in roestvrijstalen vaten bij gecontroleerde temperatuur, gedurende 17 tot 35 dagen, afhankelijk van de oogst. Na het overhevelen rijpt de wijn minimaal 24 maanden in Franse eiken vaten.

HET WIJNHUIS
Agostina Pieri
Bij Agostina Pieri draait het wijnmaken om precisie en balans. De Sangiovese-druiven worden met de hand geoogst en zorgvuldig geselecteerd om alleen het beste fruit te gebruiken. Fermentatie vindt plaats in roestvrijstalen tanks, met gecontroleerde temperaturen om de frisheid en fruitexpressie te behouden. Voor de rijping combineert Francesco Monaci traditionele grote Sloveense eiken vaten met Franse barriques, wat zorgt voor een harmonieuze mix van structuur, elegantie en zachtheid. Dankzij de warme zuidelijke ligging van de wijngaarden ontwikkelen de wijnen een rijke, rijpe stijl zonder hun frisheid te verliezen. Het resultaat: verfijnde, toegankelijke Brunello’s en Rosso’s met diepgang en karakter.
